I surfed the web and found some references to HTML. I experimented with building a form. I wanted to send submitted
information to another page (i.e. another HTML file). I couldn't get the second page to pick up the submitted information.
This lead me on a search that touched on HTTP Get and Post, web servers, IIS on Windows, and CGI stuff. I didn't understand
much of it, but I drew the conclusion that an HTML file is unable to pick up information from an HTTP request. I decided I
needed a CGI script to grab information from an HTTP request and a server that could process both.
I also decided that some of this stuff is easier on Unix than
on Windows 95. At the very least, there is much more information posted on the web for Unix users. To compound matters,
the CDs that came with the computer are long since gone, and I had no clue where to begin looking for IIS. (Okay, I
should have at least glanced at the Microsoft website, but my brain
was getting full and I was tired.) At the end of the day,
I downloaded ZBServer, a web server for Windows 95 that is available as shareware,
but I didn't do anything with it.
I also heard back from Prodigy.
(Clearly, the answer about web space from Prodigy was "yes.")
Weight Watchers compliant meal I made this night was cream of vegetable soup using non-fat sour cream. That and toast.
