Monday, post-Super Bowl, GMT. "Uncle Daniel" slept until noon. I woke up just in time to catch Susan running out the door
to base. "Wait," I cried, "could you mail my unemployment card?"
Cam is home on Mondays, but I didn't have to deal with him very much. (Instead, he drove Susan insane.) I had a lot of time to ramble into the page history. I continued adding text content to the main pages and FTPed the first version of the history, along with the newly created summary, a placeholder page for the recipes, and the HTML representation of the Postquery.pl Perl script to the site. Later, I had to emergency FTP an update to the main page. Josh, one of my main resume editors, and Michelle, my former Human Resources Manager, both emailed me to point out that I couldn't spell "parallel". "Web development, telecommunications, Weight Watchers, and spelling = paralell learning for Daniel."How embarrassing. Hope no potential employers were looking! (Whew! Safe!) In the spirit of "unemployed brother-in-law" (or perhaps in the spirit of "software developer"?), I stayed in my pajamas all day and didn't shower. Weight Watchers dinner was Super Easy, No Point Chicken Soup, with Balsamic Tomato Melts (made on white toast, of course). Oh, I almost forgot: my "morning" one-week weigh-in showed me five and a half pounds lighter than the previous Monday morning. I was not sure how much statistical faith I should put into this measurement, but I suspected I had cut almost half the calories out of my usual pachyderm-portioned, processed carbohydrates 'n' butterfat diet. I hope that my body is not in starvation mode, reserving fat and eating away at my underlying Olympic swimmer's physique. That would be disappointing.
